I am a mature, high-utility maritime professional and permanent Airlie Beach resident with 25+ years of experience as a business owner and operations manager. I combine executive-level business intellect with hands-on maritime grit, bringing a cool head, sharp leadership, and a strict focus on safety, cost control, and fleet reliability to the Whitsunday marine sector.
With a strong focus on team development, I am currently completing my TAE40122 (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment) to formalize my extensive background in upskilling staff, implementing new operational systems, and elevating team professionalism.
As an active vessel crew member with Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ) – Whitsunday, I pair this developmental mindset with real-world capability, making high-quality, calculated decisions in high-stress emergency, rescue, and recovery situations.
My marine operational background includes close-quarters vessel maneuvering, beach landings, passenger/gear logistics, and providing charter boat briefing. Beyond boat handling, I bring extensive engineering capability to fleet management, with hands-on experience in preventative vessel maintenance, mechanical servicing, and advanced electrical troubleshooting to ensure maximum vessel uptime.
Whether commanding a vessel on the water, mentoring crew, or managing operational assets in the front office, I focus on delivering uncompromising safety compliance and exceptional client experiences.
I have just volunteered for MRQ | Sailing | Motorboats | Fishing & recreational boating | Boat restoration | Motorsports & performance cars | Cycling | Golf | Trail running & bush walks | Pilates & general exercise | Graphic design | Painting, art & galleries | Business development
